Troubleshooting Session Setup

The most common problems with using Session Setup, and the related solutions are:

The User

It's essential that you select the right user (i.e. you!) from the drop-down list before you start. If you are not listed as a user, then you can add your name by clicking the Users ... button.

Training

If you don't see any training sessions listed, then it's because you either don't have a training plan, or your training plan dates are such that no sessions are scheduled for today +/- 3 days. The solution is to use the Training Plan Wizard to create a training plan that has sessions scheduled around today. You may have the wrong training plan as your current plan - to check this look in the Control Center / Training Plans page. The current plan, which is the one whose sessions are listed in Session Setup, is the plan with the arrowhead beside it.

Custom Rows

If you don't see any Custom Rows listed, then it's because you haven't created any! The way Custom Rows work is that you create them beforehand in the Custom Row Studio, then you can row them as many times as you like. Any Custom Rows you create will be automatically listed in Session Setup / Custom.

Internet

Sessions you can join will only show if:

You have a connection to the Internet and a valid login in Oarbits.
You have created or registered to join one or more Scheduled Rows.
You or someone else has created a Quick Row.

Note: The current GMT time is shown in Session Setup and the Check-in Window. The only races listed in Session Setup are Scheduled Rows from 30 minutes before to the time the race starts, up to 30 minutes after the scheduled GMT start time, and Quick Rows from the time they are created to the time they start, up to 30 minutes later.

Options grayed out

Some of the options on the right side of Session Setup are only available under specific conditions. For example race starts are not available for Interval Rows. When an option is grayed out that means it is not available. Sometimes it is not immediately obvious why an option is grayed out, so check the Session Setup options Help Topic to get more insight. All Session Setup options are grayed out for Online Rowing.

Entries missing in lists

If an entry you were expecting to see is not listed, the most likely reasons are:

The distance or time does not match the Set Piece you have highlighted in the main Session Setup screen, and/or Strokes were not saved, which you can check by looking for SD in the SD column of the rowing log.
